How Are My Customers Tracked?
How Do I Get My Banners?
To use our banners, first you will need to fill out and submit our application form. Once approved, simply create an account and follow these steps.
1. Log into your Affiliate account. Be sure to select Affiliate login not Merchant login.
2. On the Puppy Culture Partner Program Home Screen, click “Promotions” in the side menu, and then click the sub-menu “Banners and Links’”.
3. The Banners and Links page will open and all available designs and sizes will be displayed. To refine the banner listing, click the “Filter” icon to reveal various filter options.
4. Because we have banners available for all three of our brands, we advise first selecting from the “Categories” filter. Choose from the Puppy Culture, Madcap University or Madcap Radio options available.
5. Next scroll down and click “Search”. The banners for your chosen category will be displayed below.
6. Once you have found a banner that you would like to use, click “Get Banner Code” under the image.
7. Select and copy the HTML code that is revealed.
8. Go back to your website and paste the code into the appropriate place on your site.
For advice of where to position banners, read the next section "How Do I Place My Banners On My Website?"
How Do I Place My Banners On My Website?
The size and shape of banner you choose will depend on your site content and page layout. The ideal placement of banners would be more towards the top of the web page. That way viewers will see the banner immediately when they visit your site. See below for suggested example banner positioning.
Tall Banners
Tall banners should be placed alongside text, on the far left or right side of your website.
Banners like these help accent the web page without breaking up the text.
Example banner position
300x600px

160x600px
Wide Banners
Wide banners should be placed at the top, middle or bottom of your body of text.
Banners like these will act as introductions, breaks or ending thoughts to your body of text.
Example banner position
728x90px

Square Banners
Square banner are best used when they are interacting with text.
Placing a square banner in the body of the text directs the reader’s attention to it.

How Do I Add My Custom Affiliate Link to Text or a Graphic?
In addition to our banners with ready-made links, it is also possible to add an affiliate link to your own text or images. You can copy links from our partner program platform and add them to your site in a similar way to adding our affiliate banners.
Adding the General (Your) Affiliate Link
If you’d simply like to share a link to our main site, for example in an email, you can just copy the “General Affilate Link” provided on the Partner Program home page. It can be found on the very top of the page. Simply copy and paste into an email and when a recipient clicks on the link the tracking code will be triggered.
1. On the Partner Program home page, copy the General Link at the top of the page.
2. Paste the link into the main body of your email message.
Adding links to your own text
If you’d like to add a link to some text on your site, follow the same steps as above, but this time you’ll need to select the text on your website that you’d like users to click on, and then add the link.
For example, if you have a line that says “we highly recommend the Puppy Culture original film to all of our puppy owners”, you might like to add a link to the words “Puppy Culture original film” you would follow these steps:
1. Selecting the text within the webpage builder.
2. Paste the copied affiliate link as a destination URL for that selected copy.
How you add the link may vary depending on your webpage builder provider.
Here are some how-to articles for some popular website platforms:
Adding links to your own images
Similar to adding text links, you can also add affiliate links to your own images.
1. Simply select the image within the webpage builder.
2. Paste the copied affiliate link as a destination URL for that selected image.
Again, how you do this, may depend on your web hosting provider.
Here are some how-to articles for some popular website platforms.
Adding links to your own images through HTML editor
You can also manually add a link to an image through an HTML editor. You would use the following code:
You would replace the text that reads “insert custom affiliate link” with your custom affiliate link.
Then you would replace the “insert image link” with the link to the image you would like to use.
Next you would give the image a title in the “insert title” section, and a image description (for screen readers) in the “insert image description” section.
